Whats the most efficient way to transfer vhs movies to a computer hard drive?

I bought VHStoDVD 3.0 from Honesttech. It came with software, cables and a small box that actually converts the VHS signal so it will display on your PC. Then you just save the video or burn it to DVD. You could probably just get a tv tuner card and hook your VCR up to that, then run some capture software but that could easily cost more than the Honesttech package.
