Still you can spend more building your own now, best thing to do is buy a complete and replace the parts you don't like on it yourself.

It all depends. Most stock bikes with stock parts are usually cheaper. Bikes with custom parts that are of high quality can be very expensive. One of my friends has a bike that costs $2800 because it is all high quality and customised but he is a very talented rider and is only 13. So stock bikes are cheaper and customised bikes can cost more than $3000
