  1. I can't imagine much considering its a pre-school position.

Typically pre-school teachers make less because they are

not required to have as much of an educational background as do elementary/secondary teachers.

  2. Montessori pay scale tends to be the same as any other teaching pay scale.  The most I've heard someone get paid?  I don't know...I don't discuss pay details with others.

I know none of them own their own private jets and drive Porsche's to work though.

    Matt

  3. I'm working at a Montessori preschool this summer and I'm making about $8 an hour. Why do you ask?

  4. According to the North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA) 2005 Teacher Salary Survey, the competitive rate for a full time, trained, Montessori preschool teacher is $30,000 to $35,000 per year (survey of over 700 Montessori preschool teachers).  The rate trends upward with experience.  The highest reported salary was between $75 and $80,000 per year.  The sample of half-time Montessori Children's House teachers was to small to establish competitive ranges, but seemed to be about half the salary of the full time teachers with a maximum salary of between $39,000 and $41,000.  The salary survey can be downloaded free of charge (PDF) or purchased in hard copy at http://www.montessori-namta.org/NAMTA/Pu...
