It deals with a bunch of black and white pebbles on a board of many little squares; whats the name of it? I'm guessing othello, but I don't think it's it.

  1. As pointed out earlier, "Go" is played on the intersections of the lines, not inside the squares themselves (as Othello would be).

The pieces used in "Go" are more like pebbles than those used in "Othello", which are disks.     "Go" playing pieces are, in fact, called "stones".

  4. Well, my Othello game has smooth plastic discs that are black on one side and white on the other side...but it could be that.  The game that came to mind for me is a game called Pente'.  Then again, my game of Pente has stones, but they are red and blue but the board does have little squares on it.  I'm not 100% sure!  Good Luck :)

  6. If you play inside the squares, & it's an 8x8 board, it's Othello.

If you play on the corners of the squares, it's Go.

  12. I believe your thinking about the Chinese board game "GO"

Go is played by two players alternately placing black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a line grid. The standard size of this grid is 19 × 19, although the rules of Go can be freely applied to any size: 13 × 13 and 9 × 9 are also popular choices for simpler and more tactic-oriented games as well as a way to introduce Go to new players. The objective of the game is to control a larger part of the board than the opponent. To achieve this, players strive to place their stones in such a way that they cannot be captured, while mapping out territories the opponent cannot invade without being captured. A stone or a group of stones is captured and removed if it has no empty adjacent intersections, the result of being completely surrounded by stones of the opposing color.
