    This is an A-12, commonly reffered to as an SR-71 due to a president misreading some blueprints

  3. It is a SR- 71 Blackbird, it is a retired recon plane.

    It used to belong to the USAF (United States Air Force). It was capable of doing speeds of well over mac 5 and flew at such high altitude that any Pilot who flew it was technically an astronaut!!

  10. It is the SR-71AB it was a high altitude surveillance aircraft used to take pictures and listen into the soviet union during the Cuban missile crisis. The USAF used this airplane but was primarily operated by the CIA

    There were two models made the A used for surveillance and B primarily used for training and in one case reconnaissance.
