I had the lap and dye test on monday all is fine, the consultant came and told me all is ok and I can start ovulation treatment next so when I see the specialist in 6 weeks he will start me on Clomid there and then or will I have to go to the docs for that as the lap and dye was my last test? How has anyone got on with getting preg with clomid? DH sperm is fine its just I dont ovulate.

  1. I'm confused about the 'specialist', 'consultant' and 'doctor'. Which is which?! LOL

If your next step is Clomid, which has been used for decade (ie: is safe when prescribed correctly) then I don't see why they can't give you a prescription tomorrow and get you started. No need to wait 6 weeks.

Call the doctor who did the dye test and see if they want to prescribe it now. I see no reason to wait. They need to decide on which schedule is best for you; CD1-5, CD3-7 or CD5-9, so don't take it without knowing this info first (and whether they want to start on 50mg or go straight to 100mg). But it seems still to wait one or two cycles just to sit in the doctor's office in September and ultimately be given the same thing. Good luck!

  2. Clomid was my first step to pregnancy also.  I had the dye tests and everything.  Unfortunately it didn't work for me so the next step for me was ICSI.  I did get pregnant but miscarried in January at 8 weeks.  I am currently waiting do do a pregnancy test in 2 days time after doing my frozen embryo transfer 2 weeks ago.  Just because Clomid didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you.  Good Luck i hope everything works out for you.

  3. Depends on what other test u have had done. There is more test   it all depends on the doctor too. there is also shots if clomid don't work. Lol there is alot it could make ur head hurt if u think about it all. You will prob just get on clomid for 3 months an if that wont work you will prob get back on clomid for 6 months. Then if that wont wrk your specialist would tell you whats next an where to go from there.

there is alot of women that clomid did work for them so GL.

Here is a tip while on clomid if ur b***s hurt rlly bad a week or two before your period then chances r ur ovulating so have s*x. thats one thing my doc told me it did make me ovulate but i never got pregnant.

  4. loads of people get pregnant with clomid it's really successful i had a lap and dye with ovulation drilling, think that should be your last test, i know i havent had anymore since, while your on clomid it's best to do those ovulation predictor kits (unless you have pcos like me they don't sometimes work with pcos)

do you have pcos - if so your gyno could offer you metformin as well as clomid

if clomid doesnt work then it's iui after that but the success rates are really good with clomid good luck xx

  5. since he did that test the next step is clomid which he will try for 6 months if that dont work the next step will take place and this is where it gets expensive good luck
