  1. no you have to do it like a right handed pitcher would toward first, or else its a balk. just turn and throw

  2. I am a left handed varsity baseball pitcher to let you know and all you do is move your head down towards second then look at the guy if you have a chance take your left foot point it slowly and then turn yourself around and throw work on a signal with your third basemen to and really get this down it fools  most every time. :D good luck!

  3. If you move your foot towards the plate then throw to third it's a balk. You have to throw to the base you step towards.

I wouldn't recommend trying to pick someone off third anyway. It's too risky, if the ball gets away you're screwed. Plus the third baseman won't be in a position to catch the throw. He won't be holding the runner at third, they never do so he would have to make a running catch and tag.

But if you do it, you would have to do it the same way a righty would do a pickoff to first, by stepping off with your back foot, turning and stepping towards third, and throw.

Just remember you MUST step toward the base you throw to or else it's a balk. Then the runner would score from third since all runners get to advance one base on a balk.

  4. There isn't really a point in trying to pick off a guy at third unless he has a gigantic lead. He isn't going anywhere.

  5. If you're a lefty and trying to pickoff the guy at third(which i find really pointless because he's not going anywhere), you would have to turn your body.  Your left foot should turn towards third base.
