Whats the plastic called which you can make CD Stands from?

Hi, im going to be in year 11 in september, and i've taken Graphics. I've been asked to design a stand that will hold a CD case. I'm wanting to make it out of plastic, but what are the names of plastic that will be suitable for creating a stand?

The school will be getting the materials.

  2. Probably 'Perspex' - the trade name for cast acrylic sheet invented by ICI in the 1930's -  you can work ths with hand or machine tools. It is available in a wide range of colours as well as clear sheet, rod and tube. See http://www.perspexdistribution.com/pet-g...

    Most commercial products are cast or injection moulded - but it seems unlikely you will be attempting that.
