Vinyl (PVC).

Linoleum is a different (and natural) product of principally wood flour, and linseed oil  - hence the name -  on a jute or hessian backing. It should not be confused with vinyl as the properties are rather different.

There are many different brands on the market now. Most commonly people refer to the whole wood laminate market of flooring as Pergo. Pergo was the original in this market. I like Armstrong and Bruce personally.

most of it is marley tiles or vinyl sheets, different manufacturs call it different names, lino,cushion floor, marley tiles, people call it diffrent things.

Hello!

The plastic flooring that you want is called linoleum, or lino for short!  Very good, I've got it in my kitchen and living room, very easy to clean: especially with a four year old and cats around!

Linoleum is a brand name (like Kleenex). The product is vinyl flooring. It comes it sheet flooring and tiles. Laminate flooring looks like wood. It comes in strips and tiles. Both are quite inexpensive and they are durable and look as good as real tile or wood if they're installed properly.

Take your time and read all the instructions first if you're a do-it-yourselfer. Otherwise, I would go with the installers at the Home Depot or Lowe's.

Linoleum is not a brand name! It preceded vinyl by many years and is made by compressing cork particles with oils onto a hessian backing. It was favoured in hospitals early on because it contains formaldehyde, a bactericide, and washing it refreshes the germ killing action. Another of its advantages is that it resists cigarette burns, something that vinyl does not.
