Whats the point in subscribing to a blog?

or if someone subscribes to one of your blogs, is there any benifits either way?

Subscribing to a blog makes it easier to get notifications about updates and new posts. That is also valuable for the writer of the blog, especially if he has commercial ads posted on the site. I don't subscribe to blogs though, I just bookmark them, and when I feel like it, I go visit them.
