  1. The point of bulking is to put on as much muscle mass as possible, fat doesn't come to mind during this stage.  Then, when cutting, you eat a diet high in protein to sustain the muscle, but keep it a low-calorie, clean diet, so you are losing fat.  You also add cardio to the schedule.

True, you will gain fat back when you bulk again.  The reason you do cutting is that if you just keep bulking your fat will accumulate until you're extremely obese.

You want to gain as much muscle mass as possible and stop when your fat is headed towards obesity, rather than wait until you are obese and it is much harder to burn off.  Also, once you become obese, it is much harder to build muscle mass, so you burn the fat off in a cutting phase so you can gain maximum mass in a bulking phase and prevent yourself from getting obese.

    Best of luck!

  2. Yeah lol.. I know what you mean. I feel the same thing. Ive been tracking my measurements ~ weight and composition, for a couple of years now and I'm like a yo-yo... and strangely, I took a couple of weeks off training and lost 6kg in weight... but it was my body fat that went down... only to regain it again when I resumed training.

Anyway.. the bulking is supposed to put on muscle mass obviously.. but with that comes some fat... the cutting is suppose to reduce the fat... invariably you lose a bit of muscle mass along the way. This is, in part, by reason of poor nutrition planning. The "TNT diet" tries to explain the optimum for targeted nutrition... point being that you are supposed to retain the muscle gains and burn off the fat.
