i know a lot of people wonder this but what is the point? dont feed me this stuff like live life to the fullest, how can you live life to the fullest when things happen, accidents, murders, war? when i was younger i was in a fatal accident, i was only in fifth grade, the person in the other car died instantly,....on christmas eve, just to think that his parents were probably wrapping his gifts while he was gone and now he wont come home to open them on christmas morning..years later it makes me think, what did that boy do to deserve that. life is so fragile. you never know when itll be your time. theres so much pain, war, suffering in the world, how could i ever not think about that, inocent people getting robbed, killed, raped, but why? i just dont understand the point of us being here when we could die at any time? and dont say im deppresed or lonely, i have a wonderful family and an amazing girlfriend.

  1. Life on the train

Life is like a train ride, We get on, We ride, We get off.

We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy, some will result in profound sorrow. When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents! Sadly, this is far from the truth. Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence. There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn. These people are our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we will learn to love, and cherish. Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along . Others, will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey. Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.  Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off…. Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarsely leave a sign that they ever travelled along with you  or ever crossed your path…We will sometimes be upset that some passengers whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own. Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek  them out anyway. Nevertheless, once sought out and found,  we may not even be able to sit next to them because that  seat will already be taken. That’s okay …everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes. We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and  look for the best in everyone. Remember that at any moment during our journey, any one of our travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of our help. We too may vacillate or hesitate, even trip… hopefully we can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding… The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come. Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop.  Not even those sitting in the seat next to us. Personally, I know I’ll be sad to make my final stop…. I’m sure of it! My separation from all those friends and acquaintances I made during the train ride will be painful. Leaving all those I’m close to will be a sad thing. But then again, I’m certain that one day I’ll get to the main station only to meet up with everone else. They’ll all be carrying their baggage… most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.  I’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage… and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life. We’re all on this train ride together. Above all, we should all try to strive to make the ride as pleasant and memorable as we can, right up until we each make the final stop and leave the train for the last time.

  2. Life has no point, no purpose. Only mind creates purpose, creates a "future," creates plans and goals with which to fill its time. The wise one lives without point, without purpose, without plans and goals. To the wise, this is to live in the Now.  To live in the Now is immortality!

  3. the point is to find the real reason for why things happen...to realize that everything does happen for a bigger purpose...and to find the true meaning of why you are here, beyond the daily routine.  there's a lot more to life than most people think.

  4. The point of life is so you can exist so the universe can be observed because it cannot exist if it wasn't. So we are the alpha and the omega.

  5. To live beyond all adversity .

  6. I've thought of exactly the same thing recently. There are just times when people are just down but hey, some times no matter how bad things are you got to just step out of the shadows and into the sun. I feel like I've lost everything yet I can still fake a smile to everyone. There really is no point to life- it's all in the brain. You think that there is meaning to life, that's why no one can truly answer the question, "what is the meaning of life" because it is all in the brain, depending on how you think and what you have felt and dealt with your answer to twist around that. I had to lose everything to realize why I live life and now I've found it, I'm much better off, so just try search around and within yourself and you'll find something, someday.

  7. Maybe it's life is just a means of amusement by some higher power? I don't think we are meant to know the meaning just yet, there is no point, yet there is at the same time. I guess it's just best to make with what we have.

  8. The point of life is to search far and wide in an attempt to validate the existence of exotic animals who remain in speculation.

  9. The point is to value every moment for what it is truly worth and not to get caught up in the past or future.

  10. Great question! Please allow me to share with you from a Biblical perspective: The point of our existence is to live forever in peace and in the acknowledgment of the goodness of God.  That's what God intended for Adam and Eve and their offspring.  After sin entered into the world, along came the downsides that we live with today like murders, raping, robbing, wars, drugs, and other tragedies.  God's purpose hasn't changed though.  Along with all of the pain and suffering, our purpose in life is to endure in order to show people the way to a better life beyond this sin infested one.  I'm speaking of life after death.  I believe that Jesus is the way, but I'm not going to be naive to the fact that others might believe in another way.  But any respectable religion puts a great value on life and understands what great worth the Creator has on creation.

I think I'm going off on a rabbit trail.  But the point that I'm trying to make my brother, is that each person in this world has a talent, a gift, and a purpose that no one else can fulfill.  That talent is to be used to help out someone else.  Be blessed.
