Whats the policy on bringing back alcohol from mexico back into the california border and.....?

are car checks random or do the they have a procedure with every car. Is there a tax?General info and if you've done it.

Maximum 2 liters of alcohol per person.  They will ask you what you are bringing in and check your ID (they usually do this to everyone) but the car searches are random.

they'll probly do a routine glance, unless you give them any suspicion to check. other than that if your at legal age, its not open, and its legal in the u.s. then shoot for it. but save some tequila for me

You have to declare it, and pay tax on it. Car checks are random, but every car is stopped.
