Whats the premier competition in the world - Tri Nations or Six Nations?

good question well, obviously all winners of the world cup have been new zealand, australia, south africa, which make up the tri nations tournament, with england being the only northern hemisphere team (six nations ) team to win it, however on form from the world cup

1 south africa (tri nations)

2 england (six nations)

3 argentina (nothing)

4 france (six nations)

so hard to say, interesting to see which competition argentina is going to be added to, my gut feeling would be them to go to the six nations and a combined pacific island  team ie fiji, samoa tonga etc to join the tri nations

The Rugby World Cup of course, nothing compares it has the best of both tournaments and more Argentina, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji.

But I will throw this into the pot. do the Tri-N play enough teams to cope with big pressure games?

NZ have a breeze for 4 years but struggle at pressure games. Is this because they don't get enough of them? Playing only 2 other teams does'nt give that perhaps. if the Argies were there with say Tonga/Fiji etc, then a SH tournament with 5 or 6 teams would be better.

And now the cheeky answer. South Africa used NH tactics in the final ;-)

Only one way to find out. Scrap the RWC and play a different world format including, amongst other things, a competition of TRI champ vs 6 Nations champ. 4 years is too long a time period to claim that a team are "reigning" world champs. The AB's usually appoint themselves the best team during the interim anyway. Some might agree with that and some not but there is nothing else in between to prove them wrong. (Maybe that's why so much hangs on the RWC, albeit that the format is flawed.)
