  1. In Thailand:

    Go to Passport office in Bangkok (3 locations)

    Required Identity card only (if over 20 years old)

    Application fees: Baht 1,073 for a 32-page passport , Baht 1,573 for a 64-page passport.

    The passport can be collected after 3 working days.

    It is possible to have passport mailed to recipient.

    Outside Thailand, from Thai Embassy:

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :

       1. One copy of Thai house registration or Thai identification card. (bearing the applicant's name and 13 digits number)

       2. $US 50.00 fee. (Cash or US postal money order or Cashier's check made payable to the Royal Thai Embassy only.)

       3. In case where the applicant requests the mailing of application form to him/her at the Embassy's expense, please sent the Embassy postage stamp(s) of equivalent value in compensation.

    Thai Electronic Passport (E-Passport): Application Instruction

    for Thai Citizens over 20 years of age (including Loss of Passport)

    ** Remark : E-passport applicants needs to make an appointment prior to arrival

    at the Royal Thai Embassy

    1. Document required:

        The current passport, expired or valid less than 6 months;

        Thai Citizen Identity Card or House Registration Document: if both Thai Citizen Identity Card and House Registration Document are not available, Birth Certificate is required (including one photocopy);

        If Thai passport has been lost, a police report certificate issued by the local police station (including one photocopy), is also required.

        Evidence of visa in the United Kingdom :

            Photocopy of the passport page where the visa was issued

            ( if applicable )

            Marriage certificate registered with a British partner

            ( Marriage Visa )

            Letter of registration from the educational institute

            ( Student Visa )

            Letter of employment from the applicant's employee

            ( Working Visa or equivalent )

    Remarks:

        The Royal Thai Embassy in London will issue a passport containing the forename and surname of the applicant in accordance with the personal data in House Registration Document only.

        If the applicant has changed or wishes to change his/her surname after the marriage or divorce, the applicant is required to bring evidence of marriage or divorce in order to apply for an amendment of his/her personal data at the District Registration Office in Thailand prior to applying for a new Electronic Passport. (If the applicant is unable to apply at the District Registration Office in Thailand to amend the personal data, it is able to make power of attorney form at the Royal Thai Embassy in London for other person to act on his/her behalf as follows

        In the case of marriage or divorce that has been registered in accordance with foreign law.

            To authorize other person to register the applicant’s marital status.

            To authorize other person to register an amendment of the applicant’s title and surname in the House Registration Document.

            In the case of marriage or divorce that has been registered in accordance with Thai law.

            To authorize other person to register an amendment of the applicant’s title and surname in the House Registration Document.

        Notice : The applicant is required to apply for power of attorney in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in London at the working hours between 9.30 a.m. -12.30 p.m. every Monday to Friday (Except Thai and UK Public Holidays)

    2 . How to complete the application form for a new Thai Passport

        Complete an application form in Thai clearly and correctly, using the applicant’s surname and forename as they appear on the current Citizen Identity Card or House Registration Document (Form 1);

        If your passport has expired, you are required to fill in an additional Investigation Record form (Form 2);

        If your passport has been lost, you are required to complete an additional Investigation Record form and Supplementary Record Form when applying for your new passport (Form 2 and Form 3);

        Please be informed that the process of applying for a new passport takes 6-8 weeks as the new passport must be issued by the Consular Department in Bangkok, Thailand.  

    3. E-Passport applicants must apply in person at the Consular Section, the Royal Thai Embassy, London.  

    Note: Please dress correctly for your new passport photograph which will be taken at the Embassy. During the application process, your fingerprints will be collected.

    4. Fee and how to pay

        The e-passport application fee is £25.00 GBP. The passport is valid for 5 years and contains 50 pages. It cannot be renewed.

        Payment can be made by cash and postal order (which can be purchased at UK post offices). Please be informed that personal cheques and bank drafts are not accepted.

        Should the applicants wish the Royal Thai Embassy to mail their new passports by post, a properly stamped and addressed envelope is required, as follows:

            If the applicant resides in the United Kingdom, please enclose an SAE, stamped £1.50 GBP for Recorded Delivery, or £5.00 GBP for Special Delivery.

            If the applicant resides in the Republic of Ireland, please pay an additional £6.00 GBP by postal orders or cash only (please be advised that only GBP sterling is accepted).

    Note: Please be informed that you are required to provide your personal details i.e., your forename and surname, as they appear on your Thai Citizen Identity Card, Birth Certificate or House Registration document.

  3. In the US; you can go to some post offices and get it done.You need 2 forms of ID; birth certificate & drivers license. It cost me around $95.00; but this was about 4 years ago. It can take a couple of months; it depends.
