  1. Just go to a motorbike shop and get a little one to start, ask their advice.

  2. The best thing to do is register at a local motorbike school and get some lessons. They will be able to advise you on how likely it is that you can achieve that aim once they see what you are like on a bike. Some people are naturals and some need extra work. Not only that, but the motorcycle school should have all the safety equipment as well. This way you get to see how you enjoy riding a bike without the expense of going out and buying every piece of equipment.

I don't know what the law is like where you are so I don't know if you can legally drive a 600 cc when you pass your test straight away. Where I live (the UK) we are restricted to 33bhp for two years after we pass our test.

Bear in mind a 600 cc sports bike will be very fast so it is important you are a confident rider before you get it. If you have never driven a motorbike before it is impossible for me to get across the performance you can expect from a bike like that.

I would advise getting some lessons, seeing how you get on and then deciding on the style and size of the bike you want.

I can't answer for the h***s angels though. We do have some here. The bad news is that I'm afraid they are all into cruisers. I have never seen one driving anything except a Harley-Davidson. There might have been a few driving other cruisers, but I haven't seen any. Things might be different where you are though.

  3. Where are you in the world? It does make a difference. As far as clubs are concerned, in the UK I can't see many clubs refusing you entry on skin colour, dunno about the rest of the world though. Before you even start the learning process you need to get together with some other sympathetic riders who'll get you moving and teach you the rudiments. Then you'll have to get a provisional license and do your CBT and theory and all that stuff. It's all on the DVLA website. Basically, in the UK, if you don't do it all through a decent training school you're not going to pass your test.

  4. Here you go:  http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Lea...  Straight from the DVLA.

  5. If you are riding a sports bike you will probably not be welcome around any h**l's Angels, regardless of your skin color.

A 600 c.c. sports bike in a year?  It is possible it really depends on wheather or not your area has a tiered lic. system.

  6. Assuming you can ride a push bike then like many have said get allong down to a local riding school and get taught by the professionals

If possible try to do it before October this year as things will be changing and the test will be more difficult.  The school can tell you more about this if your test is likely to be after the change

Learn right and enjoy and once passed try to keep all that you learn in practice and be one of the better riders

Keep the shiny side up and stay safe

    Good luck

  7. 6'2 is a bit tall for a sports bike 17 stone maybe a bit too heavy but not impossible, you may need to adjust the preload, thats tightening the spring under the seat may need to lengthen the wheel base as well to keep the power on the rear wheel.  But i knew a fella 6'4 that rode a Honda CG, best way to find out is practice once you past the full test on direct access, no point doing it on restriction and who gives a flying fuc'k what colour of skin you have?  when your on the road all other bikers see is your helmet not your colour, even n**i bikers have respect for other bikers, its our heads that scrape the tarmac when we come off at speed usually because of car drivers not seeing us.  Keep 'er between the hedges, chin to the tank ars'e to the wind.

  8. I dont think most people care what color you are whether you ride a bike or not. As far as the sportbike, each to his own..i prefer cruisers myself. My old magna has lots of get up and go and is a whole lot more stable and comfortable to ride. Im not sayin it doesnt happen but Im jsut pretty sure you arent gonna see a h***s Angel on ricebike let alone a sportbike.
