  1. You can check the processing time of I-485 by selecting your local branch office, where you will have interview, if applicable.

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes....

  2. The typical green card processing time is six to eight months through a Consulate as opposed to the typical one to three years in  bureau citizenship and immigration services (USCIS) offices around the US.

  3. This all depends on the category that your case falls into (sponsoring by spouse, parent or employer-each takes different amount of time.)  If you have your case number which should be located on the receipt letter from Immigration you can track the status of your case online at www.uscis.gov.  https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.j... .  If there is problems with checking it online you can always call them at (800) 375-5283.  To check processing times, look here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes....

PS. You cannot "accelerate" the case, once it has been filed you will have to wait until they get to it.  The cases that have priority over all others are the ones where sponsorship is thru a US citizen spouse.

  4. It depends on a case. It seems to me you should have your green card by now... Have you been convicted of a crime in the past? Misdemeanor? Are you of a Middle Eastern origin?
