  1. My 18 month old still takes two naps usually at about 9:30am until about 10:30am and then eats lunch around 11:30am and takes another nap around 12:00pm until any time from 1:00 to 2:00pm. They need their rest!

  2. One nap in the afternoon. If you give him two like he will want, he won't go to bed very early. If he had a nap at 10am and 2 pm, try giving him one nap at 12pm. My son wakes at 9am, nap from 2pm to 4pm and he's in bed by 8:30. It really just depends on what he needs but try keeping him on the same schedule as much as possible.

  3. There is no "proper" sleep/nap schedule. for ANY child.  My oldest was done napping at a year old.  My middle and younger children took 15 minute to half our "cat naps" after they were a year old about once a day.  Younges was a morning napper middle child was an early afternoon napper.

  4. One nap in the afternoon, over with by 3. If it's not over by 3, he/she won't be sleeping until 11 at night. One of my families do the following schedule, and it's great: Bedtime at 8 or 8:30, wake between 6:30 and 7:30, nap at 12:30 or 1, over by 2:30 or 3.

  5. i work in a nursery and a typical nap schedule here would be that your child was to get at least 1-2 hours nap during the day.

    usually around 12-2 pm

as this time frame would allow your child to get to sleep easily during the evening for you.

try putting your child to bed at 6.30-7pm,as they do need at least 12 hours sleep during the night.

  6. well, of course what is "proper" is what works for you and your baby. BUT, that said: by 18 months old, babies have dropped to one nap only. ideally, it is smack in the middle of the day. at this age, most babies still need about 11 hours of nighttime sleep (give or take an hour. i hope for you it's give!) and one nap lasting 2-3 hours. in addition, it is recommended that until afe 7, bedtime is no later than 8:30. so, an ideal schedule could look like this: bedtime, 8:00; wakeup, 7:00; nap, 12:00-2:00.

  7. Every child is different. I would say an 18 month old should be down to one nap or working towards it if she's not yet. And it depends on your schedule. But I'd say after 5 or so (give or take) hrs of being awake, they should go down for a nap. Ideally sleep for 2-3 hrs. Then go to sleep again after 5 (give or take) hrs at night.
