Our flight arrives at 4:15pm and we are trying to get on a 6:30pm train at St. Pancras. We have to get our luggage and get through customs. Is this possible?

  1. The Underground (aka The Tube) is your best bet. The Piccadilly Line (dark blue on the Underground Map) goes direct to Kings Cross/St Pancras.

When you get off the Tube and go up to the surface the 2 stations are next to each other and facing away from the road, St Pancras is the one on the left with the Big Ben-like Clock Tower.

  2. My personal view is that it can't be done with any certainty. Allowing for airline delays, baggage unloading, custom and immigration is is unlikely that you can look to be away from Heathrow before 5.15 or 5.30. The Piccadilly line journey into Central London takes about 45 - 50 minutes, but will take you direct to King's Cross/St Pancras. You then have to get up from the tube, and find your platform at St Pancras - all with luggage. I would love to be proved wrong!

  3. That's tight timing! Especially if you have pain with the immigration desk!

There are two ways of doing it I think. A taxi, which will cost a fair bit and the underground (subway) which may well be quicker at that time of day. The Piccadilly line of the London Underground goes directly to King's Cross & St. Pancras (The two stations are right next to each other). I would be inclined to trust the underground, there are rarely delays. Mind you, I am a little biased, I used to drive the trains on that line myself, albeit many, may years ago!
