If your gambling with someone and they go broke, do you give them a little money back? I've notice when betting on Madden or playing cards/dominoes for money, if a person losses a lot of money, the person who won, gives them a little money. Why is this?

  1. I have never heard of this except between friends betting...

Although once while playing poker for free play chips online I was on a winning streak and cleared the table of people twice and got upto 72k there was one player left (who I was chatting with) and I had to go offline so with a poor hand I bet 1k to give to the person (as they had lost about 48k to me!!) So like what I did it was probably just a goodwill gesture although I would never do that with real money.

  2. Kindness.Is all I can think of.

I've gambled professionally for 18 years and I have never seen that. Not once. The closest I can come to something like that was a night where some of my friends and I were drinking after a poker game and we started playing foozeball for money. I took a friend of a friend for $6k and I offered to give it back because he was my friend's friend and drunk and he refused. I'd actually be insulted if someone tried to give me back money I fairly lost.

Now are you sure they are giving him money? It could be that the game they are playing has partial wins. The winner might have been holding the funds and not have won by a margin great enough to keep the whole amount.

  3. This usually happens when its a few friends gambling.  Its fun to win some money but sometimes you or a friend might end up losing alot so the big winner will offer some back.  Its just because that's what friends should do for eachother.  However, if its people you're not friends with then you shouldn't give them anything.  Hope that helps.
