Is it different for each branch of service? Do you need a certain score in the ASVAB? Does the MOS change your eligibility?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

  1. The only elegibility is that you serve  in the Military and participate in the program (I.E. put money into the program, or sign up for the M GI Bill)

  2. m gi bill?

    montgomery gi bill?

they match ur 1300 dollars 2 or 3 to 1? .. the one that is not even worth investing in cus if you dont use it right away.. the interest free status of the money you invest is worth less than the 20 year payoff down the road?

    that gi bill/

    it's total garbage..

if the m gi bill you refer too is the newest one they proposed.. all GI bills are equally applicable to any service member who is on active duty long enough to qualify.. .. the only thing that makes the gi bills different is the time you signed up.

realize that none of these things the service offers are benefits.. they are enlistment encentives.. they are only aquired by enlisting.. not by serving..

if they really cared about how they treated veterans they would offer all the vets an equal "benefits" package..  but that's a sham.. the concern.. the only real concern is how to get young kids to enlist in the military.. someone elses kids..

cannon fodder for corporate wars of profit.

  3. You need to do three things.

    1) You need to opt into the MGIB upon enlisting.

    2) You need to complete at least 3 years of service.

    3) You need an Honorable Discharge (General Under Honorable Circumstances or below will negate your MGIB).

  4. General Eligibility

-You must have first enlisted on or after July 1, 1985

-You must have had a pay reduction of $1,200.00

-You must have had continuous active duty equal to or greater than your initial enlistment period

There are a few special circumstances for early discharge-

Persons who were discharged early for reduction in force,

disability,  hardship,  a physical or mental condition which interfered with duty, or a medical condition which existed prior to service  are eligible for GI Bill entitlement for a time period that is the same as the number of months served.

Those discharged for Convenience of the Government must serve 20 months of a 2 year enlistment or 30 months of a 3 year enlistment to be eligible for GI Bill benefits.

  5. in the first 12 month of being in any service you have to pay 100 dollars a month out of your paycheck as long as you get a honorable discharge you can keep it.  believe me i am using mine now it Is worth 12 dollars to get 36,000
