  1. It depends what type of waves your going to be riding. Generally speaking the bigger the waves the bigger the board.

What size board are you riding now?

Because your still learning and fairly tall i wouldn't recommend a board smaller than 5'11". A  5'11"-6'2" should be good for surfing from 0ft to 4ft (over head) and still give you the ability to try airs and cutbacks and things like that. Average dimensions 6'1x1"x2 2/17".

If your going to get one custom made (or even if your not) talk to a shaper, they can give you the best advice on what you need, and don't lie about your ability because you'll end up with a board that only pro's can ride and will end up hating it.

    Good luck

  2. I would try a shorter lighter board...I like Rusty's but, there are a lot of good brands out there.

  3. yout six foot and 105 pounds ok buddy eat something thats not heathy. maybe you meeant 5 foot???????

but i would go for a cheap short board to start. may be like this ---http://www.islesurfboards.com/index.asp?...

your first short board doen't need to be like kelly slaters get a cheap one and you wont be scared to try new moves and maybe even airs with it!

    good luck!

  4. if ur 6 ft then you have to be over 105

get a shorter and lighter board

  5. Okay, we have a few issues here. If you are really six feet tall, and 105 pounds, you are in deep doodoo. Eat some pizza, go to the gym, drink ensure, drink Coronas, anything to put on some beef.

What are you riding now? Before anybody is going to suggest a change (like "shorter") they need to know what your current stick is. What your step step is, might be very different if your presently riding a 9'6" softop than if your riding a  6'8" performance board.

And, where do you surf? Big difference in the waves at different breaks. I was on stuff today, that looked ride-able, but had no push. At a different break, I could have been eating that stuff up with my fish.

The BEST ANSWER is not here. It is at a good local surf shop, where guys and girls who ride the same waves you do, can help you pick the right board for you local break(s), your skill level and (heaven help us) your weight. I have been surfing for 42 years, and when I want to know something about a board, I go to a surf shop.

Good luck! Go to a surf shop.
