  1. I have never felt more safe than I have in the city of Richmond in British Columbia, Canada! I would reccommend that as the safest and best city to live in Canada.

  2. London

  3. Personal safety in any large Canadian city is usually okay but property crimes (b&e, theft sort of stuff) tends to increase as one goes west.

Halifax, Montreal very safe, Toronto still okay.  Winnipeg, regina, Calgary a little worse and by the time you hit Vancouver "keep an eye on your stuff"!!

Thats said, the mountains, ocean, greenery and mild climate around Vancouver makes it bearable.

I'd say if you are looking for big city  culture, bars and nite life, pro sports etc. it's be "Toronto" but outdoors living and playing; got to be Vancouver

  4. small city or big city. if your going for big, i would not suggest Calgary. my uncle lives there and there is quite a bit of crimes and gangs. however, my grandparents live an hour from Calgary in a town called Canmore, next to Banff  - it's nestled in the Rocky Mountains and one of my favorite places in the world. and very safe.

  5. In all honesty, it really depends on what your criteria is for a good city.  Best city really depends on what you like.  If you like being in a big city, the first thing I think of is Toronto.  If you enjoy doing a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, snowboarding or skiing, I would recommend the cities closer to the Rockies.  Enjoy the small town type feel or something more laid back, the Atlantic provinces are great with that (as well as some of the prairie provinces).  Montreal and Quebec City, I find, are rich in culture and diversity.

In terms of 'safest' city, that's hard to say.  Obviously, no city is without crime.  I honestly think that the larger the city, the bigger the problems can be.  (Mind you, Saskatchewan has the highest crime rate and that refutes my statement.)

Here are some pretty interesting articles if you wanted to read about Crime in Canada:

Anyway, there are a lot of great cities in Canada.  It really depends on your preferences and might be a great excuse to go visit them all.  ;D   In terms of personal opinion, my favourite places to visit are Halifax, Vancouver and Montreal.  The safest place out of all three would be Halifax.

  6. anywhere. Its canada
