People say that Mekka is the center of the earth. They also say that Mekka is the center of the Earth's gravity, They also say that Mekka is the city that the world should depend on it when determining time not Greenwich. I need a strong scientific proof that all what I have just said is not true.

  1. It's a religious center,not anything else.

For gravity, it's simple, objects are not attracted by Mekka but by the center of mass of the earth, just do it with an apple ! Throw it in the north direction, there will be no 'Mekka' effect on the trajectory!

  2. It is just some Religious mumbo-jumbo.

  3. It's on the surface of a roughly ball-shaped planet.  The centre of the planet happens to be inside it.  Have at look at a ball and try to identify the centre of the surface.  You'll fail as it doesn't have one.

  4. When people say that Mecca is the "center of the earth", this is an Islamic view, and deals with religion, which is a seperate realm from science.

The claim that Mecca is the center of earth's gravity can be tested by standing near the city and watching objects the are dropped.  Obviously they don't fly out of your hand toward Mecca, they drop toward the center of the earth beneath you.

However, you can't offer a scientific reason for or against time being measured from Mecca instead of Greenwich, England.  It is only a system and a place from which to base the system.  So if people wanted to start a new system that had Mecca as "0", then that would be just as good as Greenwich Mean Time.
