The second highest is Karakoram. It's a mountain range, spanning the borders between Pakistan, China and India, located in the regions of Gilgit, Ladakh and Baltistan. It's one of the Greater Ranges of Asia, often considered with the Himalaya but not technically part of that range. K2 is the highest mountain in Karakoram 28,251 ft.

The Andes Mountains in S. America are the second highest, and longest, mountain range in the world.  The range is over 4,400 miles long, 300 miles at its widest, and of an average height of about 13,000 ft.  The Andes cover the entire west coast of S. America.
