What is the setting for Jane Austen's book Sense and Sensibility?

England, Devonshire (I believe), early 1900's, Regency period

England, early 1800's, the "country" for the most part, London for a part.  The period is called the Regency period, because the king was crazy, and a regent ruled in his stead.  

Also important is the social and financial setting, which is that the Dashwood women have been used to having a lot of money, but it all passed to the girl's half brother when their father died, so they are poor for their social class.
