Whats the significance of this animal in my dream, and what do you think this dream means.?

not cold, i was walking barefoot across an ice sheet and i noticed an airhole in the ice, as i neared it a seal popped its head up from the waters below, it wasnt alarmed by my presence nor was i by it's. The seal seemed quite a mellow and friendly creature coz it smiled and let me stare into its cute saucer eyes and pat it on the head like a dog,

Actually , you want to be more close to animals from everywhere.You may consider doing some eco-activities.Have you thought of you bond with animals?

Well because you're walking on an ice sheet, probably in Antarctica or something similar and you pat the seal like a dog your dream could probably be telling you that you've finally managed to tame a wild environment. You might have adapted to a harsh/different environment and  managed to like it or you've managed to get along with a mean person at school or something
