  1. Russian Tortoises can grow to be 6"-10"

In captivity most tortoises live anywhere from 40-75 years, some can live over 100 years.

The Egyptian Dwarf Tortoise (aka Klein's tortoise) is one of the smallest, growing only to be about 4 or 5"

  2. the smallest tortoise you can get is the Egyptian tortoise (testudo kleinmanni) it is found in north africa, males have a carapace length of 90mm -100mm and the females only get to 120mm in carapace length, you can also get a dwarf  sardinia (t.hermanni sarda) it lives along side the dwarf form of the marginated tortoise the horsfield's or russian tortoise (testudo horsfieldii) only grows to a max carapace size of 200mm so it does not get very big the females tend to be bigger than the males so if you get a male it will be small, tortoises live for about 50 - 75 years in captivity but they have been known to live for longer , if you are thinking of getting a russian tortoise here is a couple of sites so you can research them and see if they are a tortoise for you  http://russiantortoise.org/care_sheet.ht...   http://www.tortoisetrust.org/   best of luck honey

  3. Greek Land Tortoise

    Russian Tortoise

    Egyptian Dwarf Tortoise

those are smallest type of tortoises.

greeks only get about a foot and live sometimes over 50 years

russians get about 10" and can live up to 50 years

and Egyptians get about 4-6" and i don't know how old they get, not 100 because they are dwarfs but maybe about 30

if you are getting one as a pet i would get the Russian or Egyptian because the Greek one has extra long toenails to catch bugs, and they hurt if they scratch you

    hope i helped
