  1. Its a way of getting gullible tourists to visit a big wet hole in the ground.

  2. Mentions of the loch ness monster go back a long way.

One of the first references is made in the story of St Columba in 565, who supposedly actually slayed the monster.

After 1933 there was renewed interest because a man called George Spicer and his wife claimed to have seen it. Then in 1934 the 'surgeon's photo' appeared, which appeared to show a good picture, though it was later proved to be a hoax.

It's a very deep and large lake, which is why it is such a romantic idea that it might hold a large monster.

  3. the loch ness monster story was started by a couple of Scots men in ancient times, who realised that in the future people from different parts of the would want to visit other counties.  they realised that the 'highlands' would need to have something which would create curiosity in order to bring in the tourists.... so they came up with this 'monster' idea.

a simple idea, which seems to have worked!!!

  4. A drunken Scots man

  5. its a monster that lives in loch ness
