Very tasty. Hard to find outside the South. But it may be too late in the season now to get good green tomatoes.

They are easy to make. You slice the tomatoes, drain off excess liquid, bread them lightly, and fry them just long enough to cook the breading. Salt and pepper to taste.

It's a traditional food of the SE USA.  You slice them and coat them with the same seasonings and flour that one uses for souther fried chicken, then fry the slices.  Thy are quite good as a small side dish.
