Perez had a bit of a meltdown at Pebble Beach in 2002 as a rookie, when he took a four-shot lead into the final round and then hit several bogeys on the back nine to blow the lead. Perez was so annoyed that cameras caught him wildly mashing his club into the turf and attempting to break it over his knee.
