It terms of the strongest hurricane with wind, it was the labor day hurricane of September 1935. This hurricane rammed through the Florida Keys and the state of Florida with 200 M.P.H. sustained winds! The winds were so ferocious that people observing the storm outside were skinned alive by flying sand particles.

The higher the wind speed and the lower the barometric pressure is, the stronger the storm is. 1 .Hurricane wilma in 2005 ,it had 190 mile per hr sustained winds with gust up too 215 mile per hr. Its pressure was 882 mbar

2 .Gilbert in 1988 had 185 mile per hour sustained winds and a pressure of 888 mbar

3. labor day of 1935 had winds around 180 mph they had no way to measure for sure. but its pressure was 892 mbar so it was slightly weaker than gilbert

4. Rita 2005  180 mile per hour winds pressure of 895 mbar

5   Allen 1980   175 mph  pressure of 899 mbar

6  katrina 2005 175 mph pressure of 902 mbar

I have a home in florida ,at the time i was in germany ,i was very nervous , Looks like this year could be very active as well

I know that Hurricane Katrina was the third most strongest hurricane recorded, but I'm not quite sure about the first two.

But I'm gonna google it because I'm interested now...
