Whats the tallest marigold flower

Question

I have grown marigolds nearly 4ft high is this normal or some kind of record i deadheaded one while on hoilday in greece and grew from seed, but returned this year and never saw one in the area,?

The African marigolds (tagetes erecta). It grows to 3ft or so, maybe taller if conditions are good.
