  1. Less than £10 - it cost me less than £10 from Mayfair to Kings Cross Friday afternoon.

Having said that, the Underground station is directly opposite the Metropole. Just depends how many you are and how much luggage - have to negotiate steps at Kings Cross to get down to escalators. Not sure bout Edgeware Road - not used that one. Have stayed there before - lovely hotel with pool, ideally situated for Marble Arch, Oxford St, Park Lane and Hyde Park (Speakers' Corner).

    Have a good time.

  2. The reason that it is difficult to give you an exact answer is that there are three different fares depending on the time of day you are travelling. In addition there is a timer in the taxi, so if you are stuck in traffic and the taxi is travelling too slow, the meter clicks up.

However, this route is about 2 miles and only one main road. It really shouldn't be very much.

The underground is considerably cheaper, but very difficult to manage if you have luggage. In rush hour, they won't even let you try. If you don't have any luggage a taxi is a waste of money. Just take the tube .

  3. take the tube it will be cheaper and you don't have to change

    look:

    king's Cross St.Pancras Underground Station

Take the Circle Line towards Baker Street

or Hammersmith & City Line towards Baker Street

    Zone(s): 1 Average journey time: 10 mins

  4. bloody expensive

  5. Not that much. Would be around £15.
