  1. thirteen is regarded unlucky.


  2. because people are too paranoid/superstitious about 13 so they go from 12 to 14.

  4. considered bad luck i guess.hotels also don't have a thirteenth floor.

  5. So many people are superstitious about the number 13 they don't have 13th floors.  It skips from 12 to 14.
