the people, the food mmm fresh fish, the countryside on your doorstep, the amusing people you see on George street, you can walk anywhere in about 20 mins max

The 'Moorings bar' down by the harbour, stovies and macaroni pies on the way home from a nght out in the cold, the people themselves...., not been back for a long time!!

I've lived in Aberdeen my whole life (that makes me sound old but I'm a young 21 years) and back in the day I might have told you that there was nothing good about the place and that anyone staying there should try and escape! However, since growing a little older (and wiser!) I've come to realise that a place is what you make it. There are too many great things to mention about this place. Here are three which would rank among my favourite points of this wonderful city:

1. It's home. The people are so friendly and welcoming. Make friends in the most unlikely of places.

2. The weather. Okay, so it's cold and raining here for much of the year but when the sun shines this place comes alive! The locals know how to make the most of a lovely sunny day, and the granite looks just beautiful in the morning sun.

3. Moonfish Cafe - the single most enjoyable place to eat lunch on a Saturday afternoon (or any other time it's open; lunch or dinner; for that matter). From the friendly and cheerful staff to the wonderful meals they serve up, this place is worth travelling from the other side of the world for. Look out for the frogs' legs specials they have on some time. Fantastic!

Enjoy Aberdeen and make the most of it. I love this city and can see myself here for many years.

I'm finding it hard to think of even one good thing about Aberdeen, never mind three.

The Monkey House (bar)

La Tasca's (okay, there probably are better restaurants but this one is worth visiting).
