Like for example, these are not real examples cause i dont know who accepts what. Lets say US accepts dual citizenship and Singapore does not. Isn't that dumb if a person wants both citizenship form those 2 countries. So what the point of countries having dual c. if the other one doesn't want it?

  1. The point of having dual is so that you can have a link to previous countries that you have lived in (homeland), or the country that your parents were from without going through the hassles of visas, and have rights as a full citizen.

It is not the fault of the country if they do not allow dual. It's just their way of saying they want your loyalty to them only.

If you don't like it then don't get citizenship with a country that doesn't allow dual.. simple!

  2. Say there is country A that accepts dual citizenships and country B that doesn't.

In this case of course you can only get both A and B citizenships if you are already a citizen of B and you apply for A (since if you are A, B won't give you their citizenship unless you first forfeit it).

Assuming you now have A and B, what's the use?

Well, it is still useful.  The thing is, although B doesn't allow dual citizenships, they have no way of knowing that you are also a citizen of A - unless you are stupid enough to try and enter country B with a country A passport.

All you have to do is make sure you use country A passport when you enter country A, and country B passport when you enter country B.  This is handy because you don't need visas, and can wait in the national line instead of the foreigner line (which tends to be longer).

  3. that not how dual citizenship works.  dual citizenship is an individual thing.  countries don't need to accept it.  example: you can hold a British passport and a American passport. be both a British and American citizen. when you travel to the UK you use your  British passport and enter as a British citizen. the UK doesn't care if you are also an American citizen.

  4. some countries do not allow dual citizenship , so therefore you would forfeit one ,

it is not dumb , it is just a matter of individual country pertaining to laws in dual citizenship.so if one country does not allow it ? you have to give your citizenship to that contry .

but most countries do allow dual citizenship , so you may want to continue your family ancestry by accepting another citizenship.
