  1. Cold and snowy

  2. The weather can vary widely and depends where you are in Greece.

The mainland is mountainous, as are some of the islands, so you can expect a wide range in temperature. Also, most islands are very wet, like Crete, and get loads of rainfall in the winter.

Temperatures over 16C are unlikely anywhere in Greece in February, and Crete is probably the warmest with an average of 13C (54F). Average sunshine is just over 4 hours a day and 11 days in February are likely to be wet!

  3. It's cold.  My first February here was the coldest I've ever been in my life.  That was in the days before we had central heating though.

  4. COLDEST MONTH!

we even had snow in Preveza last year which happens maybe once every 20yrs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSSGWH2rQ...

Our pipes/ water clock burst and broke and Preveza has one of the mildest climates in Greece.

  5. Well, February is among the coldest months from my experience. But if you are lucky, it usually has a few days with nice / acceptable weather. We even have a saying about it, lol" Ο Φλεβάρης αν φλεβίσει, καλοκαίρι θα μυρίσει".

  6. Don't expect it to be swimming weather. This past February '08 they had a SNOW STORM.

Snow on the island of Kea this past Feb 08

    Snow in Santorini Feb 08

    Feb '04 they had snow

    Jan/Feb 2002 they had snow

    2007 they had snow

Anyone who goes to Greece Jan/Feb better be prepared that there is a good chance she or he might not end up swimming but snowboarding. LOL!!

  7. It will be warm but not very hot x

  8. Mainland Weather: Cold and wet; snow in the mountains

Island/Coastal Weather: Cold, wet, windy. Sunny, pleasant days appear sporadically.

  9. Even if it's snowing, the sun will come out the next day! :-)

The weather is usually mild: cold at night, warm during the day, a little wet sometimes, but not too much rain usually. Well, I'm talking about Athens.

But when it's cold, you need really warm clothes unless you are from Britain or other northern European countries. Then, you are used to it.

  10. i have no idea really, but deep in my heart i know it beats where i am in Feb.
