So, I want to move to CA from PA cause I want to get away from the cold winters and jus wanna move somewhere where its nice a hot (yea, I like it hot). I jus don't want to freeze like in the winter in PA.

I can keep my job and move to Walnut Creek (Moraga), CA, but idk what the weather is like. if its gonna be cold in the winter or wat.

Or I can quit my job and move to southern Cal. (Orange county) and try to find a new job out there, but idk

If anyone could help me out here. Thanks!

  1. you might check the cost of living in both places.

median house prices in Moraga are over $1,000,000 (actually, minimum standalone house prices are pretty close to that.  town houses start around $500k.  there are no condos that i know of.)

Walnut Creek is a bit less.

i've not checked rents, but they're not cheap either.

daytime temps in OC are probably a little higher than WC, but WC cools off at night far more than in OC.

WC does have 100 degree days, but 90s are more typical.

    today it's around 90.

how in the world did you hear about moraga?

there are some rentals, and i presume you can find one, but it's my guess that they'll start somewhat over $2k a month.

WC is likely to be better, having a much larger supply of such.

typically prices in moraga reflect the k-12 schools, which are very good.

  2. Summer in Moraga is very hot! But sometimes, the weather is weird and it becomes cold. It's not that cold though. The winters are pretty cold. Sometimes, there is frost.

If you want really hot weather, you could also move to Concord which is close to Walnut Creek. The summers there are VERY hot. You would probably want to get air conditioning or a pool. Waterworld is in Concord too! :-D

Orange County is also pretty hot. I'm not really sure about their weather. You could look it up on the weather channel or something....

  3. Going only on weather patterns, Moraga has hot, hot 100 degree summers.   Its great if you have access to a pool.  There can be cool winters (think 40/50 F) but it has never snowed like PA.  Rain happens during the spring and winter only.

Summers in Orange County can get even hotter, but both Moraga and Orange County has sunny warm weather. I believe Orange County gets more days of warm weather. There's less rain in OC, and cool winters is more like 50/60 F.   Rain is rare in OC. Its typically in a perpetual drought.

Both locations are hot, but OC has more hot days.  Oh, and in both places, you will never have to buy a snow shovel.  I am not familiar with snow tires at all.  And its considered humid when its at 40%
