Whats the weather like in dominican republic in May?

I'm planning to fly to the Dom rep on the 8th of May this year for two weeks staying at Sunscape. I'm aware that this is the rainy season, now!!!, but I went August(also rainy season) last year and the weather was beautiful, I guess it's pot luck but I wondered if anyone had nice weather during the month of May? or if it did rain did it last for long etc??? Slightly worried, Don't want to go from rain too rain.

i went the dom last year in may and it was hothothot rained through the night but it not cold babes a bit humid have a great time

DR is wonderful almost all year round-- you only have to worry hurricane season- august to october...and they don't always get hit....there's plenty to do if it rains--hot tub, jacuzzi games at the resorts- casinos-- tours.....you won't even know it's raining-- most tours start at 9 and the rum starts flowing at 9:05

It is always the same weather in the Dominican Republic, so you will have (maybe) a bit of rain (10 to 15 min) and then....

SUN again ! So don't worry you will have a blast again!!

My wife and I have been there in early May several times and it is awesome! Its hot during the day and pleasant at night. The rain showers were always brief and we never lost a full day to them. Enjoy!
