The weirdest myth I've ever heard is the one where the world started with a guy in an egg, and he burst the egg, turned the egg into the world, ripped out his guts to create the landscape, then turned into a ghost.

As for actual mythology, I have to say that the Norse concept of Ragnarök has to be the most disturbing -- it posits a temporary afterlife which will eventually come to an end when a lot of the Gods are killed.

If we're talking folklore, then I'd probably go with some of the Eastern European stories in which characters are able to invent magical effects out of nowhere -- for instance, when a couple of boys go out on their mischief and, in an attempt to silence their bothersome mother, tell her that a glass of milk will turn blood red if they get into trouble -- and then it does exactly that!

where i live there is a really weard one about a half man half goat its lthis man who was cheating on his wifr with a goat so she tied him and the goat to the front of her car and drove off a bridge so that the fused together and ther ghost haunts this bridge its a nice spot for halloween to go and wait for goat man to push ur car acroos the bridge iv tried it and ur car does go acros but its cause its at a slight angle to where it appers to be being pushed

I heard that if you sweep at 12am (midnight)

it gives you bad luck for life. That myth is not yet confirmed if it's true of just a legend.

Another myth is that if you open up an umbrella inside of a house, you'll have bad luck too.

I doubt it none of these are true, because it's impossible to live on after you've done one of these myths .. .

well the myth about mermaids is the weirdest by far. its the truth about the myth that is weird. And the truth is that sailors having been at sea too long with no woman around had the need for s*x.
