  1. Dagogo-Jack, my great-grandmothers maiden name.

  2. A distant cousin of mine married a guy surnamed Wee Hee.

Don't ask what the origin is. I have no idea.

  3. this woman at my last workplace had a last name of Glasscock. (i'm cruel, 'cause i always emphasize the last syllable. hehe).

my ex-boyfriend's last name was Titcombe (and guess which syllable i emphasize? haha).

  4. When I was in the Army back in the '60s, one guy had the surname of "Fuchs". (Pronounced with the "k" sound.) We all pitied his wife! Especially since she always seemed to be pregnant!

  5. There are families with non-English names that become problems in English speaking countries like Lipschitz and Ho, as well as, simply unusual names like O.

  6. Echelburger

    hoffensherbger

  7. Sitaraman

  8. Weird is in the eye or ear of beholder.

Some of the strangest to me would be perfectly normal to the people of the country it originated in.

The names  I like are those formed when two people marry and combine their last names--like the Beach-Boies and the Fisch-Buns.  Another couple were the Propp-(think nickname for Richard, since the actual name got bleeped)

I used to deliver mail and have run into several of these odd combos.
