  1. It is supposed to give you all kinds of great 'perks' at hotels, with travel, etc.  Something like that.

    The annual fee is $2,500 A YEAR, though. Insane.

    I'm not paying $2,500 a year just to have a credit card. To my understanding, it is more like a charge card - your 'credit limit' seems to adjust to whatever you have purchased previously. To my understanding, it also has to be payed off in full at the end of each month. Many stars make a big deal out of it - also called a "Black Card." It's heavy...made of some kind of aluminum alloy or something. Two or three times thicker than a regular plastic card. I think you have to make about $200,000+ per year income, in order to get it. You also apparently only get it by "invite only" from American Express. You can't 'apply' for it.
