  1. You can get a £5000 fine or have your car crushed. Just pay the tax!

  2. Do you mean caught with no tax? The car is impounded by the police and you have to pay the towing charge and a daily for each day in the compound. Both of these are plus VAT.

If you don't pay the tax the car is scarpped.

It's not worth the risk, especially as police cars are now equipped with cameras which detect no tax disc. Also roadside cameras can detect this.

  3. Well the police can not do much unless you are driving the vehicle on public highways which I suggest you do not. The DVLA are the ones who'll be chasing you on this but they are not as hot on the case as they make out. It takes six weeks for vehicles to be traced, clamped and towed. A fine of upto £1000 or Court costs plus Fine is payable if caught.

If you are taxing in 2 weeks, then keep the car off road. If a relative or friend has a driveway then use it to park on out of view of the road where possible. Then get it taxed as soon as. Same as Garage if you have access to one then use it.

Just get it taxed as fast as possible. Good luck.

  4. Max £1000 so keep it off the road
