  1. I'm 13 myself and i go the train. I started going on the train since I was 11. I think you could go on the train by the age of 9 or 10...

  2. depends on location. On mars, no such restriction, but on moon, I heard you need to be at least 82yrs and 3 days old to travel your own.

  3. Where I live children of 9-10 years old regularly travel by train to their schools without adult supervision.

  4. Children can travel by train as long as they have sufficient knowledge of the route, safety considerations, and are capable of knowing what they're doing. Let's face it, school children in some places have no option but to travel by train to school ! ! !

  5. I don't think there is a youngest age limit but, personally, I would hope parents wouldn't let their kids travel on their own if they are too little...  You need to be mature and sensible enough to travel on your own although I guess you could argue that kids, quite often very young, travel to school on the school bus.  I'd probably say secondary school age - around 11/12/13 or so.  I guess it would also depend on the reason why they are on their own...

  6. under railway by-laws you are considered a child until your 16th birthday. whether i let a child board a train depends on many factors such as do they have a ticket(less likely to be a runaway if they do) the time of day their behaviour and if there are a group of kids travelling . If I am not happy about any of the above i decline travel until the British Transport  Police have spoken to them . Whatever they say i go with .

  7. Depends on the child and the circumstances. I made my first journey by train (quite a long one too) unaccompanied at the age of 11 - but I was met at the destination. Younger than that might be possible if the child is sensible and the guard is asked to keep an eye on the child. I think it a good idea for children to be given a sense of personal responsibility at an early age. I allowed my son to do a circular trip on a 'Santa Special' steam train at the age of about 8.

I don't think there is any lower limit in railway byelaws.

  8. I don't think there is an age.  i'd would imagine when there sensable enough not to pull the stop lever.  maybe 12 or 13 is a sensable age.

  9. people say that kids should be with a responsible adult till 16 years, but as a responsible adult i wouldnt let my kid on until they were old enough to take care of themselves and i know they will behave
