Are the cars cheap on around that area? Or would it be best If I just bought one from the states and bring it with me?

There are a lot of car dealers in the Kaiserslautern area, including new and used cars.  You can also pick one up on the lemon lot, if you choose.  You will need to ensure that it will pass inspection to be able to drive though.  If you plan on bringing it back to the states, make sure it is american specs, or you will face paying a lot to convert it.

I would ask your sponsor where exactly you are supposed to send items because if you get the zip code for Kaiserslautern then it will be mailed off base, it is much cheaper to mail it to the base then off.  As for buying a car or bringing on with you, depends on if you like BMW, Jetta, Opal, Audi.  I would suggest that you get a car from Germany if you do not have one because they have different rules to have it on the road over there.  It was nice there, make the most of it.  Best of luck!!

If you can ship a car on orders, buy yourself a good one and ship it over.  It's a lot easier than it used to be and will save you getting ripped off when you get there.  If you need a second car, buy one over there that you can resell when you leave.

If you can't buy a good one now, just try to get a decent one when you get there.  Try for US specs, in case you want to ship it back after your tour.
