Is the Los Angeles-based golf club in the running for the US Open?

Well, apparently they'd like to host it again, certainly. The last U.S. Open at Riviera was 1948, when Ben Hogan won. That's also the only US Open to be hosted at Riviera and one of only two ever to appear in Southern California, the other one being Torrey Pines in 2008. Unfortunately, there's not an open slot on the US tour until 2018.
