Yes, they are trying but it probably wont get off the ground. No-one will support a GAYFL team as a sponsor & we all know they need bundles of money to survive because there is so much corruption in that sport. Fat cats at clubs looking after themselves & in doing so sending the clubs broke. We don't want that up here!

Plus, how many of their players have been reported for the old "squirrel grip".....y'know, a handful of nuts!

I wouldn't be so sure when they formed Western Force in WA I though maybe 1 or 2 fans might go but there seems to be an endless supply of meat heads willing to support them so anything is possible.

Mate i hear rugby league cant afford enough money too get around, and Australian rules is off buying their stadiums new clubs from regions and more fans by the minute while rugby leagues is dropping, while we go get a new team for our herritages game youre men will be off humping the ground, lets see, NRL hardly any supporters in WA, SA, NT, VIC and TAS while AFL has big numbers in all of them including NSW and QLD, maybe a bit less than the others, but atleast we call it a game, not NRL, NOBODY REALLY LIKES.

I don't agree with an AFL team on the Gold Coast but if it did happen I'd think it was about time they had a real 'man's game' played up there instead of the poofy rugby.

Its true, they will get the crowds easily because its a popular sport, and people will eventually choose it over rugby because rugby is a boring game. all you have to do to be a rugby player is have a fat neck. afl is exciting on every level. From what I understand, there are more "poofs" on the gold coast than melbourne, because atm they only have a "poofy" sport called rugby. once afl gets in there all the "poofs" will move to new zealand to watch twogaymensnugglingunderarugby because they dont have a real mans sport yet. Theres no stopping the greatest game in the world, so get over it its the AUSTRALIAN football league.
