  1. Simón Bolívar (The person who said this) was sort of an issue at the time the US was going through its early phase. He was also a great patriot though he rubbed many people the wrong way. At times he though that perhaps his own death (suicidal thoughts) would contribute to the union coming together (though it did not, as we saw with the civil war being the glue that brought the union together). He was simply worried that his influence was preventing the union from forming (though this was not correct).


  2. I will die happy, if my death stops the opposition of the parties and brings them together as a political whole working together for the sake of the country.
