I'm probably going there this fall for college. What are some fun things to do, or stores that a 20ish female would enjoy?

  1. hard to beat hte ontario science center. A whole day of fun and learning at the same time in a multi level modern building.

  2. That really depends on what you are into because there is lots to do here.

There is musuems and art galleries if you like that stuff. Lots of libraries and movie theatres and live plays and comedy shows.

There are different outdoor festivals year round. Music festivals and art festivals and dance ones.

Clubs and concerts all of the time.

As for shopping there is the Eaton's centre with all of the big name stores. Bloor street north has the expensive stores like Gucci and Louis vuitton. Queen West has tons of cool stores and big name brand mixed together. And Kensington is great for vintage.

Check out websites like www.toronto.com and www.nowtoronto.com for idea on what is going on every single day. You will never be bored if you don't want to be.

  3. The best thing about Toronto is you can avoid big box shopping and chain restaurants and support the little guy, who usually makes a much higher quality product. Toronto is full of little neighborhoods with so much character and originality. Its such a fun city to just walk around and discover what YOU LIKE about it, because there is something for everyone here. My fav thing about Toronto is the musical theatre we get here. We are only 3rd to New York and London in the amount of theatre we get and they are mostly high quality shows. For someone your age I recommend going to Evil Dead the musical which is such a good time or Dirty Dancing the musical which was also great. The other recommendations from people on here are also great. I went through the same experiance that you are going through a couple of years ago and I fell in love with T.O and I wont be leaving for a while. Have alot of fun!

  4. Toronto has FANTASTIC shopping. LOTS of stores within short walking distance of each other downtown, I'd suggest starting out at the Eaton Center (Toronto's largest mall). Orfus Road is good for shopping on a budget :)

    Notables:

Ontario Science Center - different exhibits all the time

CN Tower - MUST SEE obviously, great gourmet restaurant (360-it rotates!) and excellent view

Ontario Place - rides, water park, fun in the summer time

    Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)

    Eaton Center - biggest mall

Pacific Mall - Asian mall, Hello Kitty/electronics is what I typically look for here

Orfus Road - great outlet shopping

Toronto Metro Zoo - huge zoo

    Church Street - g*y community

Kensington Market - a lot of things, especially ethnic businesses, food especially

High Park - biggest park I think? beautiful

Paramount Canada's Wonderland - TONS of rides, waterpark, concerts, etc.

Casa Loma - a castle right in the city

Canadian National Exhibition (CNE, The Ex) - seasonal, has dog shows and booths, carnival

    HTO Park - beach

Hockey Hall of Fame - kind of obvious, isn't it?

As for clubs, there are tons of websites about Toronto nightlife...
